Urban Logistic Services (ULS) Company informs about the official opening of logistic centre, which happened on July 07, 2015 in Yerevan city. ULS is the first and unique logistic operator in the Caucasus, representing the whole complex of logistic services with 3PL(Third Party Logistics ) with the help of which Armenian productive and commercial organizations, investors and exporters, as well as other participants of the market have opportunity to work in compliance with the international criteria.
The president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, the minister of economy Karen Tshmarityan, senior officials, the representatives of foreign and Armenian business elite, foreign guests attended the ceremony.
The president took around the centre, learnt the modern standards, the possibilities of the built storage complex, made large-scale investments, the integration in the local market, the service and maintenance of loads, the favorable conditions made by “ Urban Logistic Services for local and foreign companies and the perspective of the development of logistics in Armenia.
During the round it was introduced to the president that the storage complex, making up 7 hectare surface, with modern inner and internal storage substructures and European storage technologies, corresponds to the international standards of the provision of security and maintenance conditions.
The managers and guests of Urban Logistic Services made a speech during the official part of the program. They represented the ULS project, discussed the perspectives of the logistic business, and told about the new services and opportunities
The director of the company mentioned that the opening of the project is a large event for the economy of Armenia, which will prevent the transit role for the improvement and the international integration of economy of Armenia in Caucasus.
According to V. Petrosyan due to the unique geographical position of Armenia and its membership in the EEU the logistic service gives new possibilities from Asia and the countries of Middle East to Georgia, Russia, Belarus, EU countries and vice versa for the implementation of logistic.
Karen Tshmarityan, the minister of economy of RA during his speech mentioned that the implementation of ULS program will essentially increase the regional role and meaning of Armenia. “ I congratulate all of us for having substructure corresponding the international standards and the respective investment initiative. Program, having such a modern high complex, has not an alternative than to be lucky and continuously enlarging”. This project is obviously felicitous, as it is completely consistent with directions of the admitted economic policy, the implementation of industrial policy based on the export, which year to year is improving”.
According to K. Tshmarityan the burden of the provision of economic growth is gradually moving to the fields of export orientation, the processing industry and the production of agricultural goods. The implementing field strategy is aimed at improving the competitiveness and the expansion of exporting sector of economy, and the developed and smoothly functioning infrastructure is one of its primary guarantees:
So, highlighting the existence of logistic centre, K. Tshmarityan said that Armenian businessmen in order to go to internal markets have to overcome more than their competitors, allotting additional time and expenses for transportation and here by the productive management of export of logistic it is possible to reduce the expenses and occupy strong positions in the internal market.
According to the president, the existence of substructure which corresponds to the modern international standards, is very important in the regional cooperation program for the provision of the involvement of Armenia. For example, as the president mentioned, the project of Metaks way is perspective and global program, which suggests the proper substructure and the abilities of the provision of services to position Armenia in the supply chain of general commercial and investment streams.
“With the help of such projects we establish business and investment strong standards, which form primary culture in the business relations, enlarging the attractiveness of the local market, "said the Minister of Economy.
“ There is no doubt that the complex will reach the full operation of the envisaged powers for a short time, adding 230 new jobs to the existing 70,- said K. Jshmarityan.
ULS warehouse complex corresponds to the international standards of security ajd maintenance terms, it has modern inner and internal warehouse substructures and it is equipped with European warehouse technologies.
The complex (the total surface is about 7 hectare) consists of central warehouse, having pallet place power, 15 warehouse territories which are rented and the total surface makes up 5000 sq.m., 9 refrigerator warehouses having 4500 c/m capacity and office territories making up 1200 sq.m.
ULS company already serves more than 100 Armenian and International companies in the scopes of the following services: cross-docking, storage of goods, warehouse processing of all kinds of goods, packaging, shipping according to addresses, and so on.
